So you find the editor the way you left it, Virtual Blocks keeps in your browser’s local storage the creation on screen, the creations you save under a name, the scene settings, the theme, the language and whether you have seen the welcome card.
This data doesn’t leave your device, except when you download a file or copy a link to share. You can delete it whenever you like by clearing the data of the site virtualblocks.app in your browser.
Also, to open faster and work offline, the site keeps in your browser a copy of its own files (pages, code and images). That copy contains no data about you and is renewed with every new version.
When you download a PNG image or a .vblocks file, it is saved wherever you choose. When you open a file, it is read on your device.
A share link carries the creation inside the link itself, after the # sign. Browsers don’t send that part to the server, so the creation is only seen by whoever receives the link.
The site virtualblocks.app uses Google Analytics, by Google, to know how many people visit it and which pages they use, so we can decide what to improve. Google Analytics collects technical data such as the pages you view, your type of device and browser, the page you came from and an approximate location derived from your IP address, and it uses cookies to tell visits apart. Virtual Blocks doesn’t use this data for advertising or try to identify you with it, and it doesn’t send Google what you build.
Google keeps this data according to the retention set in Google Analytics, 14 months at most. You can see how Google handles it at https://policies.google.com/privacy and prevent its collection with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on (https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout) or by blocking cookies in your browser.
The site is served through Cloudflare, which, like any web server, processes your IP address and technical data from each request to deliver the pages and protect them from abuse (https://www.cloudflare.com/privacypolicy/). Virtual Blocks keeps no logs of its own about your visits.
If you choose to support the project with a donation, the button takes you to Buy Me a Coffee, which has its own privacy policy. Virtual Blocks doesn’t receive your payment details.
Anyone who likes building can use Virtual Blocks. It doesn’t ask anyone for personal data, children included.
The site is only served over an encrypted connection (HTTPS). Your creations stay on your device, protected by its own security and your browser’s.
Virtual Blocks doesn’t keep your personal data on its servers: your creations are always on your device and under your control. Depending on the laws of your country (for example, the GDPR in Europe or the LGPD in Brazil) you can ask for information about your data, access it, correct or delete it, and object to its processing. Write to [email protected] and we will reply.
If this policy changes, we will publish the new version here with its update date.
Virtual Blocks is free and has no ads. If you enjoyed it and you’d like to buy me a coffee, here’s the button. If not, that’s fine too.
